Mr. DeFillippo concentrates his practice in public sector labor law, with a particular emphasis on representing New Jersey law enforcement officers, including Municipal Police Officers, County Sheriff’s Officers, County Prosecutor’s Detectives, County Correction Officers, Public School Teachers (and Support Staff), civilian Municipal and County employees, as well as their labor unions.
Mr. DeFillippo has been a regular columnist in various trade magazines. For several years, Mr. DeFillippo’s articles appeared in New Jersey COPS. Since June 2013, his articles have been published on a monthly basis in NJ Blue Now.
Upon graduating with Honors from the University of Bridgeport School of Law, Mr. DeFillippo served as a Judicial Clerk for the Honorable John Ricciardi, J.S.C., Monmouth County Superior Court. Following his clerkship, Mr. DeFillippo served as an Assistant Prosecutor with the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office from 1991 to May 1994. During that time, Mr. DeFillippo tried approximately 90 bench trials and 25 jury trials.
From 1994 to 1995, Mr. DeFillippo was employed as an Associate with Stout & O’Hagan, Neptune, N.J. where he represented several Municipal entities, including the Neptune Sewerage Authority, as well as municipalities such as Allenhurst, N.J.
From 1995 through September 2013, Mr. DeFillippo was employed with the law firm of Klatsky, Sciarrabone & DeFillippo, Red Bank, N.J. The last seven years he was named as a partner.
Mr. DeFillippo and his family reside in Monmouth County, N.J. He and his wife, Dina, have three children. Mr. DeFillippo is an avid sports fan and has coached youth basketball on the recreational, travel and AAU levels for a decade.
