  • The applicant must be at least 18 years old at the time of filing the application.
  • The applicant must hold a Green Card for at least 5 years.
  • The applicant must meet a residency requirement of at least 3 months in the state or district where they file.
  • The applicant must demonstrate a continuous residency in the country of at least 5 years immediately preceding the date of filing.
  • The applicant must demonstrate evidence of a physical presence in the United States for at least 30 months out of the 5 years immediately preceding the date of filing.
  • The applicant must be able to read, write, and speak basic English (with some exceptions).
  • The applicant must have a basic understanding of U.S. history and government (with some exceptions).
  • The applicant must be a person of good moral character.
  • The applicant must demonstrate a connection to the principles and ideals of the U.S. Constitution.
